As we look at the federal government’s budget for 2010, and try to answer the question, where does all that money really go? It may seem impossible – but it’s not. The key is to have a clear starting point, and we’ve chosen the operating expenses of the president, since he is, after all the elected leader of the federal government.
Fortunately for us, Bradley Patterson, calculated the cost of the Bush White house for 2008, so we have an excellent starting point, particularly because Patterson is an extraordinarily experienced non-partisan observer of the White House, as well as being a true insider.
